| About > John G. Reynolds John G. Reynolds graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University’s Program in Artisanry (1980), earning a BFA in Design and Metalsmithing, full scholarship and The Alumni Association Student Award for Excellence. An artist and entrepreneur for more than thirty years, John’s professional career began in 1974 at the American Craft Council’s annual show at Rhinebeck, N.Y. Although his work has matured over the years, the aesthetic reflects ongoing formal concerns with color, form, line and texture. The imagery is usually abstract, inspired mainly by nature. Fragments of landscapes, landforms and water recur frequently in John’s work. John was a co-founder of Goldsmiths 3 and served as president and general manager until June of 2007. John’s teaching experience includes numerous workshops, and stints as an instructor of design and jewelry making at the DeCordova Museum School (Lincoln, MA) and at Boston University. Collections and major exhibitions over the years include: Transformations (Fuller Craft Museum, 2004); The Two Collection (WGBH, Boston), Enamels ‘87 (Plum Gallery, Kensington, MD), Contemporary Metals–USA I & II (Downey Museum of Art, Downey, CA), Flux, Fusion and Fireworks (Contemporary Crafts Gallery, Portland, OR), Visions of the Future (Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston, MA) and Boston University’s Thesis Exhibition (Boston Architectural Center, Boston, MA). John is a member of The Society of North American Goldsmiths and The American Crafts Council. |
